Continental Eyewear introduces Original Penguin collection
The men’s eyewear collection includes 14 designs available in three colourways
Continental Eyewear has introduced its first optical collection with men’s clothing brand, Original Penguin.
The American brand is known for its golf collections, polo shirts and iconic Penguin logo.
The new eyewear collection includes 14 designs in retro-sport styles available in three colourways; shades of blue, green and grey.
The classic shapes feature a combination of metal and acetate, with unique angled sides. The frames host engraved stripe detailing for a sporty look, along with the Pete the Penguin logo on the sides.
Commenting on the new collection, James Conway, CEO of Continental Eyewear, part of the Millmead Optical Group, told OT: “Continental Eyewear has been working closely with the Original Penguin team over the last 18 months and we are extremely excited to be launching this stylish range of men’s eyewear.
“The initial collection is made up of 42 optical stock keeping units (SKU), offering a fresh and modern range of eyewear that stays true to the core values of this iconic brand,” Conway continued, adding: “The Original Penguin brand is all about being original and enjoying the ‘good times,’ we wanted to emphasise this within the collection and I think we have done that superbly in terms of shapes and colours.”
The collection includes square-shaped frame, ‘The Arnie,’ which features engraved stripes on the sides and a range of colours including a mottled effect through the front of the frames. ‘The Smith’ frame offers an angular wire front with a subtle ombre effect and crystal acetate inlay.
Other models in the collection include a metal supra style – ‘The Eastwood’ and square-shaped ‘The Jaspe,’ as well as a rectangular style, ‘The Samuel’ with thin metal temples. ‘The Finn,’ a retro round frame with a hint of metal in the sides and contrasting tips rounds off the collection.
Every frame purchased from the collection includes 1.5 CR39 single vision stock lenses and glazing from Jai Kudo lenses.
