Eyewear designer and manufacturer, Inspecs, has appointed Nevil Trotter as general manager for Norville, the group’s recently-acquired lenses operation.
Inspecs acquired Norville’s lens and manufacturing business from administrators on 14 July, in an agreement worth £2.4 million.
Mr Trotter joins from his previous position at Specsavers, where he had worked for 13 years, most recently as a partner and director of group manufacturing and distribution technologies.
With responsibility for manufacturing and supply chain excellence, as well as global project delivery and system integration, Mr Trotter played a key role in delivering supply chain fulfilment for the Specsavers’ move into e-commerce, along with successful market expansion.
Mr Trotter said of his new role: “This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the industry’s oldest manufacturing brands.”
He added that being part of the Inspecs group would help to accelerate Norville’s potential.
Chief executive of Inspecs, Robin Totterman, commented: “I am delighted that Nev has agreed to join Inspecs to run Norville. He brings a significant array of experience, expertise and knowledge of the optical industry and we look forward to leveraging this to build on Norville's heritage and transform its future.”
Mr Totterman added his anticipation that the new addition to the team would be “a great asset” as the group looks to further build its online offering and manufacturing capability.
