Essilor launches ‘back to school’ promotion

The company hopes the promotion will help to boost revenue and incentivise sales

Essilor has launched a series of promotions for independent eye care professionals, aiming to help practices boost revenue and attract new customers.

The company has introduced an enhanced ‘Take Two’ multipair promotion for families of children who are planning for the return to school. The promotion is running from 1 August to 30 November.

Parents will be able to choose any Crizal lens and get their child’s pair for free from the Airwear junior range, with Crizal Easy UV or Crizal Prevencia lenses.

“Our promotion will encourage families to visit their local optician before children head back to the classroom after what’s been an extra-long period away for many pupils,” commented Tim Precious, managing director at Essilor. He added that the promotion could help attract both new and existing customers, providing “an extra competitive edge on the High Street.”

The company has also launched a three-month promotion, themed as a ‘sports day’ board game, to incentivise sales and offer ECPs the chance to claim rewards.

Optical staff will collect stickers of sporting activities each time they place an order for a pair of Varilux Transitions Crizal lenses, with five stickers to collect for each activity.

Mr Precious suggested the board game has been launched as a way of “thanking ECPs for their continued support.”

“We hope our nostalgic school-style sports day initiative will not only act as a sales incentive and boost revenue for optical practices, but also offer some light-hearted fun and healthy competition for our ECP business partners,” he added.

A full sticker set is worth £10, and the value increases to £75 for completing all five sticker sets. There is also the chance to win the main prize, £500 of gift vouchers.
