OT ’s pick of the celebs rocking looks inspired by their funky frame choices

Elton John

While 2020 will undoubtedly be a huge year for the optical industry, 2019 has had its own fair share of highlights. Here, we look at our favourite celebrity spectacle wearers.

Flamboyant and fabulous

The original celebrity spectacle wearer, the Rocketman Sir Elton John (pictured above) himself enjoyed a style renaissance in 2019. The biopic about Sir Elton’s life served to remind us just how fabulously flamboyant his eyewear wardrobe is – and a style inspiration.

Strictly stylish

It’s sequin season and keen-eyed Strictly come dancing fans will have seen pro-dancers Kevin Clifton and Oti Mabuse (pictured below) wearing their specs in the training room. We want blinged-up bins on the dancefloor next series please.

Winning wearer

Former professional footballer, television pundit, and 2019 I’m a celebrity contestant, Ian Wright (pictured below) never puts a sartorial foot wrong. One of the few presenters to sport their specs, his confident, striking styles inspire fashion and footie fans alike.

Recipe for success

Baking queen Prue Leith’s (pictured below) vibrant eyewear and colourful clothing is a guaranteed recipe for success. Her eponymous eyewear collection with Ronit Furst is inspiring septuagenarians everywhere to be brave and bold with their frame choices.
