Josh Fano launches Kickstarter campaign

The eyewear company is fundraising for a collection of spectacles that is inspired by a bridge in London’s Covent Garden

Josh Fano has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a range of eyewear that will support international charity Sightsavers.

The eyewear company explained that its Studio collection is inspired by the Bridge of Aspiration in Covent Garden, London.

It aims to “mediate poetry between contemporary architectural movements and postmodern design.”

Founder of Josh Fano, Aditya Kasana, said: “We live in a very connected world today due to the internet and social media. We don’t really need to invest thousands in retail stores and advertising campaigns – so prices don’t need to cripple the customer. If it’s possible to offer a fair price, make a comfortable profit and support positive social change at the same time, I don’t see any reason not to.”

“Sustainability is very important to us at Josh Fano, so I had the designs crafted from aerospace titanium – one of the most durable and long-lasting metals in the world,” Mr Kasana added.

For every 10 pairs of spectacles sold through the Kickstarter campaign, Josh Fano will fund one sight-saving cataract surgery in partnership with Sightsavers.

As of today (19 February), three days before the campaign is due to close, Josh Fano has achieved over £28,000 of its £25,000 target.
