Rodenstock has launched X-tra Clean Finish, a dirt-repellent and easy-to-clean ophthalmic lens.
The German manufacturer explained that the finish on the front and back of a premium coating has set a new standard for clean lenses and ophthalmic optics.
The smooth surface of X-tra Clean Finish resists dirt from sticking to the lens, which can be removed without streaks and residue if it does occur.
It has been finished with flexible molecular chains that have water and oil-repellent properties.
In a survey of 100 spectacle wearers carried out on behalf of Rodenstock by an independent company found that 100% of respondents cleaned the lenses without streaks. Of the tester, 93% said they were able to remove fingerprints and noticed easier cleaning.
