Ferdinand Menrad Group has acquired a minority shareholding of Mondottica International Group that will see Mondottica expand its presence globally.

The investment will lead to Mondottica expanding into markets such as Brazil and Poland where Menrad has a presence and Mondottica does not.

It follows a four-year partnership between Menrad and Mondottica’s German division.

Founder and CEO of Mondottica, Michael Jardine, said: “We have worked closely with the Menrad team in German-speaking markets and see great synergies for future growth when we work together in other parts of the world.”

Menrad is a family-owned business led by brothers Hermann and Eberhard Müller-Menrad from its headquarters in Germany. Its house brands include Menrad and Blueberry and its licensed brands include Jaguar, Davidoff and Joop.

Speaking about the investment, the Müller-Menrad brothers said: “We strongly believe that this partnership will also work beyond the German-speaking markets. Mondottica has highly attractive licensed brands and Menrad has a strong worldwide distribution network, as well as a proven Menrad owned manufacturing base in China for more than 20 years.”
