23 July 2018
Prince William was pictured wearing Luca Gnecci Ruscone glasses at Wimbledon.
The glasses which are entirely hand made in Italy are worn by celebrities, photographers and designers, and have now been chosen by a member of the Royal Family.
The Duke of Cambridge was seen wearing the ‘Suez’ model at the tennis tournament which the company describes as a classic, functional and elegant model with a timeless style.
The model was customized in to a sunglasses version for the Prince and he has worn it on several occasions, including at the Isle of Man TT 2018 and during his official visit to the Jerash ruins in Jordan.
Luca Gnecchi Ruscone said: “The attention to detail and the prestige of Italian craftsmanship which make every frame unique, the top quality of the tempered mineral glass lenses and the style of L.G.R models have fascinated celebrities and now also the British Prince. This is yet another confirmation of the excellence of the glasses.”
“By mixing tradition with innovation we have been able to achieve international success, winning over celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Marion Cotillard, Gigi Hadid, Kate Hudson, Giorgio Armani, Charlotte and Pierre Casiraghi and many others,” he added.
Meghan Markle was also pictured wearing popular eyewear brand Illesteva at Wimbledon.
The Duchess was seen wearing the NYC eyewear brand’s ‘Leonard’ sunglass in matte black during the Wimbledon ladies’ final.
Handmade in Italy, the 'Leonard' sunglasses are defined by a white trim and have the brand's signature silver-tone metal logo pins that connect the matching arms.
The company said that paired with the duchess’s striped Ralph Lauren shirt and cream trousers the sunglasses are the perfect statement accessory.
