Zeiss has partnered with co-presenter of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, Dr Pixie McKenna, to promote better understanding of the effects of UV radiation on eye health.

Dr McKenna, who is also GP partner at the London Clinic, will work with the equipment and lens company during the summer and autumn in support of Zeiss’ UVProtect technology.

The partnership is part of a marketing campaign designed to support eye care professionals by encouraging patients to have an eye examination and advising them to protect their eyes from UV rays with lenses.

Marketing and communications director at Zeiss, Peter Robertson, said: “We are very grateful that Dr McKenna agreed to support our campaign. Her ability to translate complex medical data into meaningful words that encourage consumers to take action is inspiring.

“We look forward to working with Dr McKenna over the coming weeks and hope that her message encourages as many consumers as possible to protect their eyes against UV rays.”

Zeiss UVProtect technology provides protection against UV rays up to 400nm and is available in all clear Zeiss plastic lenses.
