Galaxy Optical has launched over 300 new spectacles and sunglasses, including new brands to the UK independent market.

The British eyewear company has introduced 80 Brink frames, 48 in the Baseline range and 44 from the URBN:West brand.

Launching the new brands at Optrafair, Galaxy Optical also announced its support of the Pink Ribbon Foundation with a new collection of 36 exclusive spectacles for the breast cancer charity.

Speaking about the partnership, operations director at Galaxy Optical, Sergio Weingarten, said: “[Pink Ribbon Foundation] thought the concept of a donation being made with every frame sale was a great initiative and something that would appeal to consumers and the trade alike.”

Other frame launches included 18 fashion-led spectacles from sports brand Dunlop, and 18 frames from the Kangol brand, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary.

Galaxy Optical also showcased its new lens Portal, which is designed to enable independent practitioners to access its glazing facilities in a simple, user-friendly way.

Mr Weingarten added: “It feels that our timing is perfect and that there is a real need in the market for a disruptor like Galaxy that has such a simple and concise ordering and pricing policy. The independent sector is ready for a change, which we are perfectly positioned to offer.”
