International flavour to the eyewear on offer at Vision Expo East 2018
05 April 2018
A bastion of the fashion conscious, Vision Expo East 2018 showcased a range of eye-catching eyewear brands. OT picks out four international brands to look out for this year…
Italy: Charlie Max Milano
Created in Milan, and manufactured in Italy, the Charlie Max brand made its debut appearance at Vision Expo East in 2018.
Expect delicate metal frames in over-sized shapes.
The company explained: “Milan is the undisputed fashion capital of the world. We are inspired by the styles, trends and artistic stimulus found at the heart of the city.”
Australia: Valley Eyewear
Queensland based Valley Eyewear takes its inspiration from brooding black acetates and theatrical frame shapes.
“Using bold silhouettes with understated details, the brand’s aim is to encapsulate this vision in a collection of unisex sunglasses and optics that enhance the wearer’s personal style,” the company said.
US: Kio Yamato Optics
Renowned for its clean silhouettes, innovative hinge design and ergonomic craftsmanship, Kio Yamato uses titanium, beta titanium and acetate in its designs.
The company told OT: “The collection is a perfect union between simplicity and complexity by utilising the most sophisticated state of the art technology. Throughout the years, the brand has developed ardent followers that understand our passion for creativity.”
Italy: RES/REI Eyewear
Another ‘made in Italy’ success, RES/REI Eyewear impresses with its playful use of colours, and quirky acetate frame shapes using the round ‘geek’ look.
The company explained: “RES/REI is Latin for ‘an object with substance and form.’ But is also means a concept, an idea. We are bringing these two components together.”
