Mondottica plots expansion with £14.9m investment

Santander will fund the eyewear company’s expansion plans

Mondottica International has secured £14.9 million in funding to support its UK and international expansion, as well as the development of its luxury eyewear division, Brando.

The Nottingham-based eyewear designer and distributor of brands such as Cath Kidston, Joules and Benetton, secured the funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Operations director at Mondottica International, David Hart, explained that the funding will allow the company to deliver its products and services on a global scale.

“Santander has provided a flexible package tailored to us, our market and one that accommodates our international needs and ambitions,” he said. 

Funding will also create 45 new jobs within Mondottica International and its subsidiaries.

The deal was facilitated by Mondottica’s founder, Michael Jardine, and the founder of Ted Baker, Ray Kelvin. Ted Baker is the largest client in Mondottica’s portfolio of 15 brands.
