Essilor has appointed Hilary Halper as its new chief financial officer (CFO), who vacates the position of vice president and global head of mergers and acquisitions.

Ms Halper replaces Geraldine Picaud, who has decided to pursue other opportunities outside of the company after seven years as CFO.

Prior to joining Essilor, Ms Halper held financial positions at GlaxoSmithKline, Deutsche Bank and Ernst & Young.

Chairman and CEO of Essilor, Hubert Sagnières, said: “I am very pleased to promote Hilary to the position of CFO as we build the company’s foundation for future growth. Her international experience in finance will be a strong asset for the company’s development.”

“We thank Geraldine for her contribution to the company in developing a world-class finance function and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” he added.
