British eyewear brand Kirk & Kirk has expanded its global presence with the opening of an American office in Philadelphia.

The company, which was founded by husband and wife duo Karen and Jason Kirk in 2014, has grown in popularity over the last three years to become well-known for its handmade, colourful eyewear.

The new office will be headed up by James Koh, alongside a team of reps covering the breadth of the country to Canada that include: Teddy Hamilton, Siobhan Burns, Adam Huff, Katie Kral and Marie France Labbe.

Speaking about his new appointment, Mr Koh said: “I have always been a fan of the brand so it’s incredibly exciting to be on board. It’s a big territory, but I have a great team supporting me and I can’t wait to get started.”

The establishment of a US office demonstrates Kirk & Kirk’s commitment to the territory as demand for its eyewear continues to grow. Mr Kirk explained: “The American market is saturated with black, tortoiseshells and simple aviators, and Kirk & Kirk is the antidote to this.”

Referring to the US market, Mr Kirk admitted that it is a “big territory to conquer and there is lots of work to do, but with James at the helm I am feeling confident.”

The new Philadelphia office officially opens on 1 September.
