The design skills of Austrian eyewear company Silhouette have been recognised at this year’s Red Dot Design Awards.
Silhouette received two accolades, one for its Atelier ‘G700, Titanium Meets Gold’ frame, and a second for its Dynamics Colourwave collection.
The annual Red Dot Design Awards aim to recognise the “best” products to reach the market in the last year. Manufacturers and designers globally are invited to submit their latest products for consideration by a panel of expert judges. The judges rated submissions based on innovation, functionality, formal quality and ecological compatibility.
Silhouette describes its Atelier collection as “an expression of timeless elegance,” featuring rimless frames that have been made with “precious gems and luxury materials.” Specifically the ‘G700, Titanium Meets Gold’ frame that was recognised by the award is produced with a 23kt gold-plated titanium and has diamond-like carbon black features.
Silhouette’s Dynamics Colourwave collection is comprised of rimless frames that feature the company’s trademarked Titan Minimal Art design. With frames suitable for both men and women, the collection features bright purples and oranges, as well as opaque hues of forest green and maroon. Frames in the collection are also available in a variety of shapes, including pilot aviator and cat-eye.
