Expanding with bling

Diamante detailing is a key fashion feature of Continental Eyewear’s growing women’s frames portfolio

Continental Eyewear has been “extremely busy” working on its 40 new launches in the last few months, with a special focus on women’s ophthalmic frames.

A key fashion feature of the new styles in the Jacques Lamont and Cameo collections is the addition of diamanté or embellishment.

Diamanté details have been added to two new additions in the Jacques Lamont range. Petite women’s metal supra frame ‘JL1276’ has a small stone embellishment on the sides.

Women’s acetate frame ‘JL1278’ is described by the company as “superbly balanced” and uses larger gemstones inlaid into the sides “to give that wow factor.”

The new embellishment details can also be found in the Cameo styles ‘Becky’ and ‘Mandy,’ although slightly more understated.

‘Becky’ is a women’s metal frame offered in a 52-eye size that features small diamanté details. It is available in the colours rose, gold and violet.

‘Mandy’ is a tri-coloured acetate, featuring a brown mottle front with diamanté details on the sides. It has contrasting inner colour variations available in aqua, lilac and sherry. The frame is also offered in a 52-eye size.

Continental Eyewear’s sales and marketing manager, David Strathie, told OT: “Reacting to both trends and practice requirements, we have added a huge array of both colours and details to our Jacques Lamont and Cameo collections.”

He said: “Using premium-quality acetates, excellent hinges and superb plating technology has allowed us to introduce frames that have a luxurious feel, but without the price tag.

“We have always tried to give the best value for money across all our collections and strongly believe investing in premium quality raw materials enables us to create products which have a strong appeal across all sectors of the eyewear market,” he added.

“The introduction of high-density acetates has allowed for the production of finer eye rims, which are a feature of many of today's modern styles,” he explained.
