Building on a Legacy
British eyewear designer Claire Goldsmith continues the theme of combination frames in her new styles
18 October 2016
Claire Goldsmith has launched four new ophthalmic styles in the CG Legacy collection as it enters its seventh season.
This season sees two more frames combine cold metals and warm acetates together, which is fast becoming a trademark signature of the CG Legacy collection.
Introduced last season, the new direction of combination styles has proved hugely popular, according to the company.
Two new slim elegant styles have been launched for women, ‘Ryder’ and ‘Seymour’ and two ‘hard hitting’ tailored designs for men, ‘Nathan’ and ‘Porter.’ The new frames are each offered in six colours.
The new styles are all made from Mazzuchelli acetates, featuring traditional rivet hinges, and produced by hand in Italy.
British eyewear designer, Claire Goldsmith, launched her eyewear collection, Legacy, in 2009 after reviving her family’s heritage brand and vintage sunglasses collection, Oliver Goldsmith.
On top of the four new designs, Claire Goldsmith will also be launching a new accessory line of polarised sun clip-ons in gold, white gold and gunmetal. Each is designed to fit on to the CG optical styles ‘Robinson,’ ‘Weston’ and ‘Goldie.’
Fortunate to have four generations of Goldsmith learning behind it, and nine decades of archive inspiration to refer to, the new CG Legacy offerings are said to draw on that heritage, but with a fresh aesthetic added. The collection now stands at 30 styles in total.
