Lens group features on the ‘100 Most Innovative Companies’ list for a sixth year

International lens group Essilor has been named in Forbes’ 100 Most Innovative Companies for the sixth consecutive year.

Earning itself a spot on the list, which recognises publicly-traded companies that have been identified by investors as being innovative now and in the future, Essilor reports that it invests more than €200m annually in research and innovation.

With three innovation and technology centres that are staffed by 500 researchers globally, its research and development teams are currently focused on six areas including presbyopia, wellbeing and visual health, sun, polarised and photochromic lenses, online sales and inclusive business models.

Chief operating officer of Essilor International, Jean Carrier, said: “Innovation has always been a cornerstone of our strategy. We have one goal – to push back the frontiers of poor vision worldwide.”
