Pennine Optical enters into licensing agreement with Transport for London for branded cases and cloths. Frames are expected to follow

Going Underground
Pennine Optical has entered into an exclusive long-term licensing agreement with Transport for London to produce and distribute a range of London Underground-themed products, primarily targeting the retail optician and gift shops.

The initial collection consists of three branded spectacle cases, featuring pictures of the London Underground map and its logo.

The range also features a large microfibre cloth utilising the latest fibre technology according to Pennine Optical, which is useful for all types of lenses, computer screens and mobile phones.

A free acrylic counter display unit is offered with all initial minimum orders of 100 cloths.

To market practices, a London Underground gift bag is available which can also be personalised with the company’s logo on one side.

Pennine Optical chairman, Peter Cowan, told OT: “We are delighted to introduce an innovative collection of design and fashion-led licensed optical products, all printed with the Underground iconic logo recognised around the world and now available to opticians, both in London and throughout the UK.”

Mr Cowan added: “Later in the year, Pennine Optical will be launching a contemporary youth collection of fashion frames inspired by the brand.”

The London Underground collection will be officially launched at 100% Optical, 6–8 February at ExCeL London on the Pennine Optical stand, W110.
