Three-minute Buzzfeed video cycles through eight decades of changing eyewear showing the shifting fashions in women’s eyewear over 80 years
20 October 2015
Buzzfeed has produced a video showing the shifting fashions in women’s eyewear over 80 years.
The three-minute video from the listicle-come-news website cycles through more than eight decades of women’s eye wear trends, from classic cat eye through to aviators and thin frames of the 90s.
Starting with 1930s frames, viewers see thin, hexagonal spectacles with rimless wire frames, before moving through to the 1940s cat eye frames.
The video, supported by US vintage frames outlet Old Focals, goes on to showcase a range of styles seen over the decades from oversized frames of the 1970, to the thin round frames of the 1990s and through to 60s inspired oversized frames.
