Smart glasses specialist create eWindow into eyewear technology and new ‘Blogosphere’

Waterside Laboratories has launched a new website which has been designed to reflect its values and resources as an “evolving” company.

The new website features key facts on the company’s products and service areas, with specific pages covering remote edging, digital surfacing, glazed packages and personal service, as well as a section reflecting the Southampton-based company as a smart glass specialist.

The company’s ‘Blogosphere’ aims to provide interesting information “on all things optical,” especially the latest developments in the smart eyewear sector.

The new website layout has been created to position Waterside as “the smart lab choice for the modern independent.”

Explaining the reasons for the development, Waterside managing director, Bob Forgan, said: “Over the last 18 months our product range has expanded to encompass cutting edge design and technology. It became increasingly clear that our website needed to be redesigned in keeping with this evolution.”

Mr Forgan added: “Our main aim has always been to offer our customers the ability to stand out on the High Street, essentially to give them a point of difference from the chains. Now with the rapid global expansion of wearable technology, specifically the smart glass sector, we are in a position to communicate valuable market knowledge and to introduce pioneering new products.”

Waterside Laboratories managing and technical director, Chris Smith, said: “When devising the site, we were focused on ensuring it provided a snapshot of our product ranges to give our customers and potential customers an introduction to what we do, a brief precursor to actually contacting us and speaking to us.”
