Zeiss launches centration device for iPads

Precision lens measuring goes mobile
Zeiss has launched its i.Terminal mobile, a new mobile centration device which operates from an iPad.

The i.Terminal mobile is the latest measuring tool from the company which has been created for practices looking for the reliability and ease-of-use of the i.Terminal 2 centration technology, but within a quicker, handheld device.

Using the i.Terminal mobile, over 20 individualised measurements are precisely captured within just 20 seconds, including monocular interpupillary distances, fitting heights, pantoscopic angle, back vertex distance and wrap angle.

The aim is to offer improved visual comfort and quick lens adaption for patients.

The i.Terminal mobile needs no extra accessory for the iPad and easily integrates into practice systems, offering flexible evaluation and review of data anywhere in practice from multiple iPads.

According to the company, this helps to create a contemporary, effective patient experience, which matches the high precision of the Zeiss lenses purchased.

The company is also offering a rebate scheme. By investing in the latest measuring technology, Zeiss customers can receive 100% rebate on the i.Terminal mobile purchase through their Zeiss lens spend.

Peter Robertson, marketing and communications director for Carl Zeiss Vision, said: “The Zeiss rebate scheme ensures our customers benefit from the latest technology to strengthen their dispensing process and ultimately provide their patients with the best vision possible.”

Mr Robertson concluded: “The i.Terminal mobile represents a new standard in mobile measurement accuracy and efficiency.”

The i.Terminal mobile forms part of the Zeiss i.Com mobile, a server for the storage of patient data, and interfaces with practice management systems.
