27 February 2015
MCM grants Marchon the rights to manufacture and distribute sun and ophthalmic collections under the MCM brand.
The first deliveries will launch in March with a ‘Made in Italy’ sunwear capsule collection which will be available exclusively across the MCM worldwide boutique network.
The launch represents the beginning of a partnership between the two global players in the fashion business.
The MCM eyewear collection will launch September in Asia, with a global roll-out planned for January 2016.
Marchon Eyewear president and CEO, Claudio Gottardi, said: “This is an exciting partnership that perfectly fits with Marchon’s strategy to extend the range of young and dynamic luxury brands in our global portfolio, leveraging our Italy manufacturing, talent and logistics.
He added: “Considering the well rooted presence and appeal of MCM in Asia, and other major metropolitan global markets, we look forward to further increasing our presence in one of the fastest-growing areas for fashion essentials.”
MCM’s international CEO, Paolo Fontanelli, said: “We are delighted to announce the global partnership for sunglasses and optical eyewear with Marchon whose expertise and excellence will allow MCM to develop the most technically advanced and stylish eyewear collection in the luxury arena.
“We look forward to working with Marchon to grow our business in this important category. This is the first licence agreement for MCM and it is a strategic step to develop new areas of business that will contribute to the strengthening of our brand identity.”
