Grafton Optical has launched new modules, which it said can enable practices to turn their slit lamp into a diagnostic dry eye tool.
The DSLC200 Slit Lamp Imaging Module and the DEM100 Dry Eye Module from SBM Sistemi can be used in combination as a dry eye assessment platform.
The DSLC200 Digital Slit Lamp camera turns the slit lamp into a digital device using a 3.1 megapixel camera with 1/1.8” sensor and an adjustable focus distance, which can be set to the users requirements.
The tool is not mounted to the slit lamp eyepiece, instead using an optical image splitter between the eyepieces and magnification optics, allowing the practitioner to use the eyepieces normally.
The module is compatible with most slit lamp models, Grafton Optical said, including those manufactured by CSO, Zeiss, Nidek, Topcon, Takagi, Righton, Keeler, Huvitz, Mediworks, and Rexxam.
The standard version of DEM100 includes examinations for interferometry, tear meniscus, bulbar redness, meibography, blepharitis, NIBUT and anterior segment imaging.
The software provides results in a ‘traffic light’ style report, Grafton Optical explained.
