Théa introduces Blepha EyeBag

After acquiring the EyeBag brand last year, the company has added the Blepha EyeBag to its portfolio

Théa Pharmaceuticals has launched the Blepha EyeBag as a new addition to its eyelid care range.

The Blepha EyeBag can be used as a treatment for eye conditions including meibomian gland dysfunction, blepharitis, stye, chalazion and dry eye disease.

The reusable warm compress works by emitting heat to help soften the oily secretions in the eyelids and release of natural oils to maintain tear film.

The reusable silk and cotton product can be used and reheated up to 200 times. The bag includes a locally-sourced flax filling so is free from additives and plastics.

Dr Matthew Olsen, head of UK marketing at Théa Pharmaceuticals, said: “Meibomian gland dysfunction, amongst other eye conditions, can be painful and have a huge impact on patients.”

Commenting on the addition of the Blepha EyeBag to Théa’s product portfolio, Olsen said: “Its provision of rapid and effective relief for a range of eye conditions and symptoms aids us in our efforts in addressing the needs of eye care professionals and patients.”

The Belpha EyeBag was developed by Professor Teifi James, and was acquired by Théa last year.

Commenting, James said: “I am really pleased to hand over the reins of the Blepha EyeBag,” describing it as the “perfect addition” to Théa’s product range “as the first step in an effective eyelid routine.”
