Alcon announces new Vision Care appointment

Cheryl Donnelly has been named international head of professional affairs for Vision Care

Alcon has appointed Cheryl Donnelly as the new international head of professional affairs, where she will lead within the company’s Vision Care franchise.

Previously the CEO of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), Ms Donnelly stepped down last year after six years in the role.

In her new role, Ms Donnelly will be reporting to Antoine Delgrange, vice president of international marketing group for the Vision Care Franchise. She will also work closely with Carla Mack, head of global professional affairs, to drive the company’s international priorities, cultivating relationships with key opinion leaders, industry influencers, academia and researchers.

Mr Delgrange said of the appointment: “As a highly respected member of the international vision care community, Cheryl brings her extensive experience gained in independent and large chain practices, industry body positions, education and the wider profession within the UK, Europe and Asia.”

“With her leadership and passion for the industry, Cheryl will be crucial to connecting our Vision Care innovation agenda and portfolio of products to the needs of Alcon’s customers,” he added.

In addition to her experience with the BCLA, Ms Donnelly has previous experience at Bausch + Lomb in professional services and medical affairs, holding roles for the UK market and the EMEA region, is a GOC registered contact lens optician as well as an educator.
