Birmingham Optical will host its first Nidek optical coherence tomography (OCT) refresher day at the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) Resource Centre in Birmingham on 17 December.

The event will include CET discussion workshops, presentations, basic and advanced user training, as well as a business session.

Director of medical and education at Birmingham Optical, Jason Higginbotham (pictured), said: “The aim of these refresher days is to help optometrists and their support staff get the very best from the Nidek OCT. It’s also the last chance to get CET points for the current cycle, which will be inputted by the cut-off date at the end of December.”

Sessions at the event include OCT and your business, which will be presented by the company’s head of education, Sophie Withers. Ms Withers will speak about fitting OCT into practice and offer advice on how to make the device a commercial success.
