Hand-held retinal imaging device launched by Mainline Instruments

Mainline Instruments has launched Optomed Aurora, a hand-held retinal imaging device.

It provides a 50° field of view, a four-inch colour screen and easy to operate user interface, according to the Birmingham-based company.

Designed with fundus imaging technology and a non-mydriatic retinal camera to screen for diabetic retinopathy, the Optomed Aurora also features dual charger technology for improved battery life.

Director of Mainline Instruments, Simon Hawkins, said: “Diabetes is a growing concern in the UK and can result in vision loss, but early screening can help to prevent visual impairment.
