Red Dot recognition for Zeiss

Zeiss app receives award

Zeiss My Vision Profile App

Equipment company Zeiss’ My Vision Profile app has been recognised in the annual Red Dot Awards.

The app, which Zeiss describes as a “responsive online tool for analysing personal visual habits and providing recommendations for spectacle lenses” received first prize in the ‘Communication Design’ category.

Vice president for global marketing at Zeiss Vision Care, Rolf Herrmann, said: “Digital innovations like this app show that we are helping to shape the future of eye care. For the first time, consumers have the possibility to quickly and easily gain information about which spectacle lenses will suit them best, before going to their local optician. The abstract and diverse product of 'spectacle lenses' becomes understandable.”

My Vision Profile features a simple design with colour-coded categories. Clearly formulated questions allow the user to answer questions on their visual acuity and personal lifestyle in different ways through an interactive approach.

The app is linked directly to a ‘local Zeiss optician’ search. A practitioner can then scan the user’s result through a QR code, access it for a one-on-one consultation and process it.

Zeiss partners can now also create their own, individualised version of the app and add this to their website. This way, My Vision Profile becomes a part of a practitioner’s digital landscape and can be used on-site during the consultation, Zeiss highlighted.
