Grafton Optical’s E-Eye technology is now available to rent across the UK and Ireland
24 July 2017
A new rental scheme has been launched by Grafton Optical for its E-Eye technology, which is designed to specifically treat dry eye as a result of Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Grafton Optical’s managing director, Brian Bowles, told OT that the company has experienced a huge amount of interest since the product’s launch last year, which is now available to rent across the UK and Ireland.
“It offers huge benefits not only to patients suffering from MGD related dry eye, but also to practices wishing to increase their income,” Mr Bowles explained.
E-Eye uses patented intense regulated pulsed light technology to help regenerate the function of Meibomian glands and improve the quality of their secretions.
The new type of polychromatic pulsed light produces calibrated and homogenously sequenced light pulses, which stimulate the parasympathetic nerves. This encourages the Meibomian glands to restore their natural lipid flow, reducing tear evaporation and preventing the eyes from becoming dry.
Grafton Optical told OT that in most cases, dry eye symptoms will significantly improve after three sessions which are carried out over 45 days, and that for 60% of patients, results can last up to three years.
