Viteyes targets the nervous system

Viteyes, a macular health supplement brand, has launched 'Viteyes Nervous System Support.' 

The product is designed to support the nervous system, of which the optic nerve is a key part and essential for good vision, the company said.

Explaining the reason to launch the product, optometrist and founder of Butterflies Healthcare, James Sutton, told OT: “There are a lot of ocular conditions that can affect the optic nerve such as glaucoma or optic neuritis. While these require conventional medical treatment, something that could provide an appropriate nutritional environment can work synergistically to promote nerve health.”

He added: “We already had this product in development when we read an article by Proyen Limbachia and Dr Hannah Bartlett in OT on nutritional supplementation for glaucoma in November 2016. It reinforced our view that nutritionals can play a much wider role in eye health than just for macular degeneration.”

Viteyes Nervous System Support contains vitamins B12, C and magnesium, which are said to contribute to normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamins C and E, contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, as well as other ingredients including coenzyme Q10 and Ginkgo biloba, which are also included.
