Optisoft has revealed that development on its practice management system, Optisoft.NET, is nearing completion after a £1m investment by the company and five years of work.

The enhanced system is scheduled to launch at the end of January 2017.

Optisoft managing director, Keith Sheers, told OT: “This will have been worth the wait for customers.”

He explained: “This is not an upgrade, it is a complete rewrite and the culmination of almost 30 years of software development experience dedicated to the optical market.

“The system has been built using the very latest Microsoft technology and will ensure that both our customers and the company have a long and bright future with Optisoft.NET.”

Explaining the improvements to the system, Mr Sheers said: “Optisoft.NET incorporates all that was good in our past systems, but it has been enhanced to take full advantage of fibre optic broadband and to meet the changing needs of the modern practice.”

He added: “It can be deployed locally, or hosted on the web, and we have kept our modular design. It accommodates single or multiple practices and it has been optimised for the latest hardware.”

Concluding, Mr Sheers said: “We would like to thank our customers for their patience, as it has taken much longer than we first envisaged, but that is the nature of the business and we are confident that they will be pleased with the results.”
