Thomson Software Solutions adds new features and tests for 2016

Major upgrade to Test Chart Software launched

Thomson Software Solutions has launched a major upgrade to its flagship Test Chart software.

Test Chart 2016 includes all the tests and charts that have made the system a best-seller in the UK, while adding a range of new features and tests and a fresh new look and feel.

Since developing the first computerised Test Chart in the mid-90s, Thomson Software Solutions has installed the software in over 6000 consulting rooms in the UK including most major hospital eye departments, all optometry university clinics and thousands of optometric practices.

Thomson Software Solutions founder and managing director, Professor David Thomson, said: “We have always tried to ensure that the software is at the cutting-edge in terms of computer technology and the latest vision science research.

“Since the launch of the system over 15 years ago, technology and vision science has moved on, and we felt that it was time to redevelop the software from the ground up, while taking care not to lose the intuitive and simple user interface which has helped to make it so popular.”

The new software includes a range of charts and tests for distance vision testing and a huge range of stimuli for near vision testing when linked to a tablet.

The new software makes full use of the polarised screen option developed by the company and includes a powerful set of optometry-related tools and new interface to control the Nidek RT5100 phoropter.

Test Chart 2016 will feature at 100% Optical and Optrafair. Practitioners can get a full preview on the company's website or for further information call 0170 741 4700.
