Staff at Thea Pharmaceuticals have cycled 1,000km for charity, raising funds for Fight for Sight.
The team, which comprised of 16 members of its optometry and pharmacy sales force, as well as head office staff, took part in the ‘Tour De Thea’.The team cycled the distance of 1,000km on static bikes at their local gym. The distance represented the journey between the company’s new UK head office at Keele University Science and Business Park in Staffordshire, to its French headquarters in Claremont Ferrand.
Commenting on the charity challenge, national optometry sales manager from Thea Pharmaceuticals, Helen Owens, said: “The challenge was a great opportunity to raise funds for worthy causes. At Thea we’re committed to developing high-quality eye care products, and providing training and education into eye health. Fight for Sight is funding research into over 100 different eye conditions, so we felt it was essential to support this research.”
Speaking about how the funds will be used, director of fundraising at Fight for Sight, Catherine Woodhead, commented: “The funds raised will help to support Fight for Sight’s pioneering eye research and it takes us a step closer to creating a future that everyone can see.”
