Contact lens module boosted and business intelligence tool added

The Acuitas practice management system from Ocuco, which has been used in independent practice for over 20 years, has been enhanced. 

The system’s ‘Contact lens module’ has been improved to offer a smooth workflow from contact lens trials through to the final contact lens dispense, and features an integrated Adaro catalogue and ordering facility. 

The new ‘Logix Business Intelligence’ is a reporting tool which covers key areas of clinics and the business, enabling practice owners to make informed decisions.

The Acuitas system also includes features such as its ‘Payments and goods supply manager,’ incorporating the management of contact lens and spectacles supply with direct debits and patient correspondence. 

More than 1,400 sites use the software, demonstrating that Ocuco has a track record of supporting practices and businesses through the UK. 

Ocuco group chief executive, Leo MacCanna, told OT: “In line with our commitment to continuous improvements, we now provide the independent practice with an online patient journey, by integrating the practice website with the practice management system.

“Now patients and prospective patients can find their local independent optician and engage with them online; with unique websites, online appointment-booking, product catalogues and a 24/7 online store.” 

Mr MacCanna added: “All transactions are recorded within Acuitas to give the practitioner a holistic view of their relationship with their patient, online and in the practice.”
