Contact lens manufacturer Johnson & Johnson Vision has released its Acuvue RevitaLens multi-purpose disinfecting solution (MPDS) will be made in the UK from September.
Previously branded as Complete, the RevitaLens MPDS product was developed in partnership with microbiologists and contact lens material experts, while over 600 eye care professionals contributed to the company’s product research.
The solution “uses dual-disinfecting technology to deliver peroxide quality broad spectrum disinfection,” Johnson & Johnson Vision explained, adding that the solution kills more than 99.9% of both forms of Acanthamoeba.
Speaking about the product’s release in the UK, optometrist and director of professional education and development at Johnson & Johnson Vision, Dr Kamlesh Chauhan, said: “We are excited to make RevitaLens (MPDS) an Acuvue brand, because it is an important part of the eye care routine for contact lens wearers. Half of contact lens wearers in the UK use reusable lenses, which require daily disinfection, yet there is a tendency from some wearers to ignore the importance of this.”
RevitaLens is available in 100ml, 300ml, 360ml and two 300ml bottles.
