Clinical trial assesses accuracy of CooperVision app
CORE found that OptiExpert matched practitioners’ recommendations for Clariti 1 Day multifocal contact lenses
The Centre for Ocular Research and Education (CORE) has carried out a clinical study on the accuracy of CooperVision’s OptiExpert app for contact lens power recommendations.
CORE’s study found that power recommendations for CooperVision’s Clariti 1 Day multifocal by the app closely matched those of a practitioner following the fitting guide.
CooperVision said that the findings indicate that 100% of contact lens wearers can be successfully fitted with its multifocal lens using two pairs of trial lenses because of the app’s recommendations.
Vice president of global professional and clinical affairs at CooperVision, Gary Orsborn, said: “We’re delighted that the study findings reinforce the accuracy of our innovative OptiExpert app. It adds another dimension to how we partner with eye care professionals to save valuable chair time and create a better wearer experience.”
