SynergEyes supports World Keratoconus Day

The contact lens company is making donations and dispelling myths about the disease

SynergEyes Duette Progressive lenses

SynergEyes UK is donating £1 to charity this week (5–9 November) for every order placed of its hybrid contact lens.

Donations are in support of The National Keratoconus Foundation, which is raising awareness of keratoconus and how it affects patients’ lives with World Keratoconus Day on 10 November.

SynergEyes is donating to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and sharing messages on social media throughout the week that tackle the misconceptions about the disease and contact lenses.

The company explained that one misconception is that hard contact lenses hold the keratoconic cornea in place and stop the disease from progressing.

SynergEyes said that this is not true and that a contact lens pressing on this area will eventually be painful to wear and scar the cornea.
