Ortho-k prescriptions rise
The number of prescriptions for No7’s EyeDream lenses increased last year
No7 Contact Lenses has announced that prescriptions for one of its orthokeratology (ortho-k) products rose by 18% in the past year.
The company said that a year of “intensive” online and consumer focused marketing has driven uptake of its EyeDream lenses.
No7 has also held regular educational events for optometrists around the UK on myopia control.
Sales and marketing manager at No7, Danny Pepper, explained: “Our intensive marketing – with the online campaigns – are showing a direct correlation with uptake in specific areas of the country.
“The myopia control message is one that many practitioners and parents feel they can no longer ignore, with many believing they have a duty of care to inform patients about the benefits that can come from ortho-k.”
A similar increase in prescriptions is expected in 2018, the company added.
