CooperVision has acquired Procornea, a Netherlands-based manufacturer of speciality contact lenses.
The acquisition adds Procornea’s DreamLite orthokeratology technology to CooperVision’s portfolio, as well as expanding its access to myopia management markets to introduce new products.
“By working together on the significant challenges of myopia and other vision issues, CooperVision and Procornea will undoubtedly have an even greater impact in changing lives around the world,” CooperVision’s executive vice president of strategy and business development, Andrew Sedgwick, told OT.
Procornea will continue to operate as a complementary business at this time, retaining its offices and brands. Oculentis, the intraocular lens-focused sister division, was not a part of the transaction and remains independent.Advertisement
