Johnson & Johnson Vision Care goes platinum to support the BCLA

Contact lens manufacturer will be a platinum sponsor at the association’s June conference

ACC Liverpool

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (J&J) has been named as a platinum sponsor of the 40th British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) Clinical Conference and Exhibition, which takes place at Liverpool’s ACC on 9–11 June.

During the three-day event, J&J will showcase new innovations in relation to its Acuvue contact lenses, highlight research and development that is in the pipeline and share resources designed to support eye care professionals in practice.

The contact lens manufacturer's new Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism contact lens will be available at the conference for delegates to trial.

With clinical, R&D and commercial leads on-hand throughout the three days, J&J experts will deliver a range of lectures as part of the conference’s education programme.

On Saturday, 10 June, Dr Xiao-Yu Song will deliver a talk entitled The future of contact lenses as part of an emerging technologies session.

J&J’s vice president of professional affairs, Ian Davies, will join the University of Manchester’s Professor Philip Morgan on stage on Sunday, 11 June for a session designed to explore new insights into contact lens retention and dropout in relation to the key moments that a lifetime contact lenses wearer goes through. During the 45-minute talk, the pair will also discuss how critical retention is for a practice, as well as the clinical, communication and business management strategies that practitioners can use to retain patients.

A poster by Dr Ben Straker will be on display during the conference to demonstrate to delegates clinical findings around its Acuvue Oasys 1-Day and Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism.
