Bausch + Lomb continues to invest in scleral lens business

Bausch + Lomb (B&L) has fully integrated Innovative Sclerals Ltd into the speciality lens portfolio of its global business following its acquisition in 2015, the contact lens manufacturer confirmed.

So far this year B&L has invested £1m in Innovative Sclerals Ltd, installing state-of-the-art equipment at the Hasting-based facility where it manufactures speciality lenses. The contact lens company has pledged to support the further development of scleral lenses through product development, dedicated resources and practice growth support.

Commercial lead for B&L’s specialty division, Graham Avery, who was recently brought on board to grow the portfolio, said: “The growing speciality contact lens business has attracted a lot of attention from UK practitioners as they look to differentiate their business and offer contact lens vision correction for all their patients…I am delighted to join the team to lead this important area of focus.”
