Optometry students at Cardiff University will travel to Moldova in July to provide sight tests and spectacles in rural areas where eye care services are unavailable.
A team of six students will be led by second year student, Avni Hirani, and five qualified optometrists, who will see over 1500 patients.
The student team needs to raise a total of £4500 to cover the cost of spectacles and travel, with accommodation and food provided by the local community. Donations can be made via the team’s JustGiving page.
