Steps towards creating a future where everyone can see

16 May 2018
Eyeplan Ltd joined the Bind Blind Walk on Thursday 10 May to raise money for eye research.
The company, which provides monthly payment eye care schemes in the UK, joined the Big Blind Walk 2018, a sight loss fundraising and awareness initiative which involves walking from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
The Eyeplan marketing team trekked for over 10 hours, covering more than 20 miles from Frome to Castle Combe.
Eyeplan’s walking team consisted of commercial director, Chris Clemence, marketing executives, Hayley Blanning and Dorothy Chandler, and social media assistant, Victoria Mills. So far, the team has raised £1350 between them, with donations still coming in.
Mr Clemence said he was delighted to take part in the initiative and celebrate the anniversary, he commented: “The Big Blind Walk seemed like a great opportunity to walk 20 miles for 20 years, all while raising money for a great cause.”
Big Blind Walk organiser, Julian Jackson said: “I am thrilled with Eyeplan’s support. This show of commitment is a brilliant example of how supporters can get so enthusiastically behind the Big Blind Walk and through raising awareness of sight loss and fundraising for eye research, can help us all take a step towards creating a future where everyone can see.”
All funds raised will go to the Big Blind Walk’s nominated organisations, the National Eye Research Centre and social enterprise Vision Bridge.
