Maui Jim extends charity partnership
The eyewear company has pledged to increase its financial support of Optometry Giving Sight
25 August 2017
Eyewear brand Maui Jim has announced the extension of its relationship with Optometry Giving Sight (OGS).
As the charity’s international partner, Maui Jim confirmed that it will now build upon its existing status as European Silver Sponsor by pledging additional financial support to OGS.
For every pair of sunglasses that are sold at a Maui Jim sporting event, the eyewear company will donate an eye test to a child supported by the work of OGS. It aims to donate 6000 eye tests.
The initiative will run for 12 months, Maui Jim confirmed, having begun the pledge at its Wimbledon Tennis Clinic that was hosted by tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou and former Wimbledon champion Martina Hingis last month.
As an international charity, OGS funds sustainable long-term programmes in developing countries that aim to provide people with access to eye care, with a focus on correcting refractive error.
