Vintage eyewear brand partners with VAO
Retrospecced signs agreement with Vision Aid Overseas to ensure affordable eye care and spectacles are available in Africa
11 July 2017
Vintage spectacles company Retrospecced has entered into partnership with Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), which will see the brand donate 20% of its profits to the charity.
Launched in 2017, Retrospecced is an eyewear company founded by a mother and daughter duo who believe in sustainable fashion. The business recycles and refurbishes retro and designer spectacles, some of which are sourced through VAO.
Commenting on the partnership, Retrospecced co-founder, Lucy Crane, told OT: “Retrospecced has a fantastic selection of frames which have been upcycled, and by choosing their next pair of frames from us, customers are also raising money to help disadvantaged adults and children in Africa to see clearly.”
VAO fundraising officer, Sarah Namusobya, added: “Retrospecced is a good example of how one man’s trash can really be another man’s treasure. This simple but unique idea will help VAO in enabling many more children and adults in Africa to see clearly to be able to prosper in their normal day-to-day life.”
