Transitions Optical is named as a new sponsor of an Irish charity for visually impaired children

Transitions Optical has entered into partnership with an Irish charity that provides residential camps for children with vision impairment.

During the week-long residential trips, Camp Abilities Ireland runs a range of sporting and physical activities for the children, including outdoor adventures, judo, and arts and crafts.

As a new sponsor of the charity, Transitions Optical’s support will enable Camp Abilities Ireland to expand and offer more visually impaired children the opportunity to take part in a camp. As a result, it will now also be able to host residential trips in Limerick and Dublin this year.

Speaking about the partnership, Essilor’s director of corporate and social responsibility in the UK and Ireland, Nick Corbett, said: “We have been humbled to see the fantastic work the team at Camp Abilities carries out to support visually impaired children in Ireland and the long-term benefits the programmes can bring to both the children participating at camp and their families.”

Transitions Optical employs more than 500 people in Ireland at its business centres in Tuam, Ennis and Blessington.
