Charity cycle challenge heads to the Lake District

Education provider Eyecare will support Vision Aid Overseas and Optometry Giving Sight through a charity cycle ride for the third consecutive year.

The company will support the two charities through the joint Cycling for Sight Challenge that will be hosted on 28 August.

This year the ride will take place in the Lake District, a move from Yorkshire, where it was held for the last two years. The initiaitve will offer cyclists the option of two distances, 45 miles or 87 miles, as well as the introduction of a mountain biking challenge.

The mountain route will cover 17 miles, including steep climbs, challenging descents and crossing streams, the organisers described.

Last year the initiative raised more than £7000 for charity.

There is a £40 entry fee. For more information and to book your place, visit their event page.
