Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) has teamed up with Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) to collaborate on fundraising events as VAO celebrates its 30th anniversary.
It is hoped that by working closely together, the two charities will be able to engage more comprehensively with the UK optical profession, bringing added impact on the ground when delivering eye care to those in need.
As part of the partnership, VAO will adopt OGS’s global fundraising campaigns such as Optics Cycling for Sight and the World Sight Day Challenge. Funds raised through these campaigns will support VAO’s target £150,000 in additional donations during its 30th year.
Commenting on the announcement, executive director for VAO, Nigel Wilson, said: “Vision Aid Overseas is delighted to be receiving the support of Optometry Giving Sight. We are looking forward to working with them on their exciting fundraising campaigns and feel that our partnership will help to further establish both charities in the fundraising sector and offer additional opportunities for meeting our core objectives.”
