What is your professional passion?I am currently a research fellow at Aston University, working on a range of clinical trials investigating areas like the ocular impact of UV, the benefit of UV filtering contact lenses, oxygen permeability of modern mini-scleral contact lenses and validation of new digital assessment tools.
What are you most proud of?Buying and doing up my first home.
What do you like most/least about your working day?I love the variety that comes with each day, but I do sometimes miss daylight.
I love the variety that comes with each day
What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?I should say my family and friends, but, in truth, it is chocolate.
How do you manage a work/life balance?Maintaining a work/life balance has steadily become more of a challenge, but I always try to set aside regular downtime in my schedule for the things I enjoy. I also love a geeky colour coordinated excel spreadsheet to help keep me organised.
What do you do to unwind?Hot yoga and a good box set on Netflix.
You have won the OT lottery. What are the first three things you would do with the £1m jackpot?I would clear my mortgage, treat my family and friends, and explore the world.
Do you have your next holiday booked? Not yet, but I got a taste of South East Asia earlier this year with a trip to Hong Kong, which has whetted my appetite for further travel of this region.
